Mobile Technology Lab

Our group applies Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to create new sensing technologies and diagnostic platforms in the field of Medicine and Public Health.  All over the world, mobile phones and the Internet of Things have been transforming our work as well as our personal lives.  Coupled with intelligent algorithms, the devices in our environment can augment our senses, predict our health, and give us feedback to guide our behavior. Like any tool, digital devices can be abused, and can also be a source of addiction if self-agency is neglected.  But in general, ubiquitous computing and AI have demonstrated enormous potential for empowering ordinary people (patients, health workers, doctors, farmers, etc.) to perform extraordinary tasks in a wide variety of domains ranging from chronic disease and global health to mental health, aging, and drug addiction.
