Remove Data Request

If you have created an account using our mobile app, created by the Mobile Technology Group at MIT, you can request to have your account removed by following the instructions on this page.

This page pertains to the user account and user data for the mobile app created by Mobile Technology Group at MIT, which is used for research purpose only by our research team and research partners. All user data and user accounts are used in accordance with the regulations of human subjects research, which is governed by the MIT Committee on the Use of Humans as Experimental Subjects (COUHES). Every study which uses our mobile app has a user consent form which must be signed by every user and which describes the purpose of the study and the use of the user data and describes the users rights.

In some of our mobile apps, it is possible to create a user account. However, data will not be collected until we have a signed written consent from from you (the user).

A user account will only be created AFTER the user has signed a participant consent form and after the account has been approved by our research team at MIT. After approval is granted, as part of each research study, the user data will be collected on our project data server. (Please note that this server is only intended to be accessed by our research team and partners).

Please note that NO USER DATA will be saved to our project server unless you have an approved user account.

If you have created an account and you wish your account and data to be removed, please send an email request to our research team lead, which is Dr. Richard Fletcher (fletcher@media.mit.edu). After receiving your email request, we shall verify that you have an account and we will delete your account as well as any of your data that was collected from you.

Thank you,
