Mobile Biometrics

Being able to identify and authenticate a person is fundamental to providing basic services such as healthcare or banking.  However, official ID cards do not exist in many developing countries.  For this reason, we have been exploring low-cost biometrics in the form of vein or iris scans, which can be implemented using the mobile phone camera or webcam.
